mskatej has pointed out that this week is International Blog Against Racism Week and as part of this she has posted picspam of her favourite characters of colour

I am going to do the same, although it's more actors in general rather than specific characters



I fell in love with Gina Torres when she was in Alias and my love was sealed when she was in Firefly


Hiro Nakamura. Best character in Heroes. The End.


M. Night Shyamalan is still one of my favourite directors. I love all his films and I developed a bit of a crush on him when he appeared in Lady in the Water (I know he's in all his films but this was the one where he had the most significant role)


I love Sharon/Athena/Boomer. All her cylon incarnations really


Sayid is probably the only consistantly good character in Lost


Lawrence Fishburne is made of awesome!


I defy anyone not to love Samuel L Jackson. The man is so proud of the shit films he's been in and you can rely on him to be over the top in most everything he does. The mere notion of Snakes on a Plane (and the fact that he refused to do it if they changed the title) sealed his place in my heart


I'm not overly fond of Dee Dualla (or should that be Dee Adama now) but Kandyse McClure is so pretty!


And let's not forget the genius music of MC Hammer. No, seriously, my mobile phone says 'Stop! Hammer Time' whenever I get a text message
