HP and stuff
Jul. 25th, 2007 07:42 amOh, LJ, how I missed you. I'm glad I have GJ as a backup at least because it meant I could post about Harry Potter last night before I forgot all the stuff I wanted to say
First of all though, there was a trailer for Transformers before the film and I was literally bouncing up and down in my seat with glee. And this is AFTER I've seen the film. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I got so excited about a film and never in my life did I imagine it would be a film about cars that turn into giant robots. LOL.
Saw a trailer for Stardust too, which looks good. Must read the book again before the film comes out.
Right, onto Harry Potter. I have to say that I viewed this film very differently than I imaigine I would have if I'd seen it before I read Deathly Hallows. Scenes moved me that I probably wouldn't have thought twice about if I'd seen the film before I read the book
So needless to say my review CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR DEATHLY HALLOWS
Well, I loved it. The script writers have really developed the knack of getting all the right stuff from the book into the films. It was great.
Snape made me cry. Which would not have happened if I hadn't read Deathly Hallows. The scenes with him teaching Harry Occlumency just broke me as I realised how painful it must have been for Snape to be stuck in a room with Harry and how he was doing it all for Lily *sniffles*
Neville also made me cry just because I know he's going to wind up saving them all in the end.
I also loved Luna. She was wonderful.
I kind of wish we'd got to see more of Tonks but I guess that will come in the next film.
Also, all of Remus's scenes in this film were entirely about Sirius to the point where it kept cutting to him even though Remus was talking about something else entirely. LOL.
I was kind of expecting more of an emotional reaction to the scenes containing Fred and George but I didn't.
All the kids look so old in this. I don't know how old the characters are meant to be but they barely look like teenagers any more. LOL
Overall I liked it though, even though bits made me cry.
