That didn't take long. LOL. I started reading Red Son this morning and I got so sucked in I took it with me to the airport so I could read it on the train home. Was finished before I got back to York.

It was an amazing read. I think I liked it even more than the Preacher series. Absolutely fascinating. I'm sure there were a lot of comic references that I didn't get but the basic idea of Superman trying to make the world into a Eutopia, and his distress when he reaslises he's removed humanity's free will without even thinking about it was so great. Lois Lane married to Lex Luthor and what might have been. All fabby. I love AU stories. If you're at all interested in the Superman-verse then read this.

Next on the reading list is Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. No idea what it's about, [livejournal.com profile] mum_ra loaned it to me. It was shortlisted for the Booker Prize so it will either be brilliant or senseless artistic tosh. We shall see...
