hils | Another burning question

When making DVD Videos is there any way of reducing the file size without reducing the quality? I'm trying to burn TV show episodes onto DVD and as it stands I can only fit one episode onto a DVD. Two is just ever so slightly too much. I was just wondering if there was any way around this. Ideally we want to be able to play these on the DVD player in our living room
