hilsAfter I was getting all worried that no on was reading Press-Ganged or more to the point weren't liking it, I got this lovely e mail a couple of minutes ago

I'm sorry not to have written before but I wanted to send you something. I started this story in chapter 4. I thought you wrote the villainous and dangerous Riley very well and also Buffy's terrible predicament of being captured and kept as a sex slave.
Your story has a really masterful sweep to it with regard to the seafaring atmosphere, the setting on board the two ships and the desperate mindset of William that drove him to his act of retribution.
I have read some other historical fics set on the high seas, but this one rings the truest to me in terms of what I perceive as historical accuracy. You obviously have an interest in this area and it has shown in your story.
In chapter 5 the confrontation between Elizabeth and Angel was scary and tension filled. She did show her bravery by taking the upper hand with him. The battle that ensued was excellent. You achieved a brisk pace between scenes as the Navy ship descended upon the pirate ship. It was a very exciting interlude, especially having Elizabeth knock Angel unconscious and then stumble into William's arms.
So now, Elizabeth is rescued, Angel is captured and William is a hero. I wonder if you will deal with the trauma of Buffy's ordeal. Granted, in historical times people tended to put aside sorrows in order to scrape out an existence, but I hope you won't gloss over it. She would certainly have some shame and misgivings regarding her experiences. Perhaps William will have as well.
I am looking forward to a continuation of this story. I have an interest in historic fic myself, but have never attempted it. I think you are doing great job with the dialogue as well.
On a personal level I think this is without a doubt the best fic I've written so far but it's nice to hear that people out there are enjoying it too. I haven't had half as much feedback for this one as I've had for my canon Buffy fics so it's nice when something like this comes along
