Slightly more interesting than me screaming a lot in Disneyland. LOL

Saturday 15th May

Wow, this has been a really crazy day, for both good and bad reasons. We started off with breakfast, realised that nearly everyone in our hotel was going to the even and then headed back upstairs. I had a nap for an hour and then got ready to go out. We had to queue for quite a while but we got in eventually. I got my wristband and my question card. Realised I was going to have to stand up in from of 600 people and talk into a microphone at James. Tried not to crap myself. We had pretty good seats. We were 8 rows back and in the middle. They played a load of fab music fan vids (United States of Spike was HILARIOUS and everyone needs to go to www.headtilt.com), we watched the episode of Andromeda with James in and the clip of him on Ryan Seacrest shaving his head. After that it was time for us to line up for our autographs. I caught a climpse of [livejournal.com profile] rockgoddes who I met very briefly at Toronto Trek last year and I met [livejournal.com profile] psubrat. We chatted while we were in line and I found myself getting more and more nervouse. I don't know why since it's not like I haven't met James before or anything. I couldn't think of a thing to say so I just decided I'd say hi and then leave

Never that simple is it?

I was nearly at James' table when I heard him talking to a guy a couple of people in from of me about Natalie Portman (apparently the GotR song German, Jewish is about her). James says 'Natalie Portman is the only person who did a decent job of acting in any of the Star Wars films. Even Alec Guiness and Harrison Ford sucked!' Next thing I know my mouth has kicked in before my brain even registered it and I yelled 'That is WAY harsh!'. James looks at me and says 'Come on, it's true. I love Harrison Ford, the guy can act, but he sucked in those movies.' I start arguing with him, I don't even know if I actually agree with what I'm saying but my mouth refuses to shut up. Still, I must have put up a good argument because finally James conceded and said that it was George Lucas's directing, rather than Fords acting that was the problem. I agreed, shook his hand, appologised for yelling at him and left.

Great. I've met James 4 times now and 50% of those times I've argued with him. Next time I meet him I'm going to gag myself of something.

The Ghost of the Robot Q&A was next and that was really good. Charlie sat there in his sunglasses, was quiet for most of the time and looked every bit the rock star. Most amusing highlight was when James was commenting that he used to think their new member (god, I can't remember his name or even what instrument he plays) was really innocent but in fact he's a real party animal and didn't get in until 7am that morning. Charlie hushes James and tells him that the new guys mom reads the gig reports. James does some serious backpeddaling but I suspect the story will appear in a LOT of write ups now. Including mine. LOL

After that we watched Chance and James on Sharon Osbourne while he signed the rest of the autographs and then it was time for James's Q&A. I honestly don't know why I sign up for these things. I'm always terrified but on the other hand if I don't then I'll end up really wishing I did. So, I took a deep breath and did it. I met some nice people in the line while I waited to ask my question so it wasn't all bad. My question was

"Is there any furthere deveolpments for you playing Harry Dresden in The Dresden Files?"

James says he's going to audition for the part but that 'in Hollywood auditions don't mean shit'

I can see a BIG kerfuffle arising if he doesn't get the part though. He seems to really love the books and the character of Harry.

After the Q&A [livejournal.com profile] psubrat, [livejournal.com profile] rockgoddes, [livejournal.com profile] jacqui_hw, me and a bunch of other people I didn't know went to Planet Hollywood for dinner. The plan was to go to the theatre and try and get autographs from Aly, Luke and Alexis Denishof who had been spotted there a couple of days before.

When we got there the theatre was emptying so we headed around to the back to wait. There were quite a lot of people milling around so we headed up to the stage door. We saw Alexis go in and then a minute later a woman came over to talk to us and said that she was waiting for someone who worked inside and that she'd heard there had been an accident. Alexis came back out loooking pretty stressed and then went back in again. Finally someone, who I think was the theatre manager, came out and told us there had been an accident, there would be no autographs and that we had to leave to make way for the ambulances and stuff. We moved back around to the front of the theatre where there were 2 ambulances, 2 fire engines and a police van.

We finally managed to find out that a chandeliar had partially fallen down and a load of plaster and debris had fallen onto the people sitting in the balcony area. A few people were taken away in ambulances and the news later said that 15 people had been hurt but none of them seriously. Apparently Luke jumped off the stage when he saw what had happened and helped people to get out.

I've never had such a range of emotions go through me so quickly. There was a rush of excitement when I saw Alexis, sadness and worry when I heard about the accident and then I got freaked out when I realised I'd been in that theatre just 24 hours earlier.

We all felt for Aly who must have been freaked out seeing it happen, especially since this is her first time perfoming in a theatre. At least Alexis was there for her.

Still, it was a relief to hear no one was hurt badly and the theatre are going to issue a statement tomorrow apparently.

That was pretty much the end of my adventures. Not likely to see any of the Buffy cast until the cruise now. Another 12 months to wait
