Well, I'm back!!! I've missed my home PC *hugs*. I've half unpacked and there's stuff strewn all over the bed but bugger it, I'm going to type up my adventures before I finish putting stuff away

I have a LOT of photos both of James, GotR and Disney but it's going to take a while to get them all resized and uploaded onto my website so it may be a couple of days before you can post them

I'll do my Disney report here and the James, GotR and Aly stuff in a seperate post

Sunday 9th May

Well, we're here! Not the best weather when we arrived: Grey, wet and miserable, but that didn't stop us having fun. Of course we went to Pirates of the Caribbean first, rode on it twice and poked around the shop before deciding we should probably head elsewhere. I've already picked out a Pirates T-Shirt, Two Postcards and a poster to buy before we leave. Bad Hils!

After PotC we went on the Peter Pan Skyride, Star Tours and The Haunted Mansion. The evening was drawing to a close by this point so we headed to Planet Hollywood for dinner. Quite expensive but VERY yummy! After that we headed back to our hotel room and watched the Disney Channel (the only thing in English we had). It included an amusing sketched called Parots of the Caribbean which had Iago (from Aladdin) singing the pirate song. Most amusing. Bed now, more fun ahead of us tomorrow

Monday 10th May

God I'm knackered. Early mornings and me are NOT mixy things. I dragged myself out of bed for breakfast, we came back to out room afterwards and I collapsed on the bed and fell back asleep until the park actually opened. We had lots of fun though and went on LOADS of rides. It's fairly quiet at the moment and we didn't have to queue for more than 5 minutes for anything. We went on all the main rides once apart from PotC which we went on LOADS of times. I think our running total is 8 (including yesterday) so we'll easily be in double figures by the time we leave. Alas, most of this is my fault as I keep taking pictures while we're riding on it and there's still a couple of shots I need. We've also been trying to get the perfect official photo but I'm starting to think God doesn't want us to have one. The only decent one we've had so far had a load of water splashing up and covering our faces. [livejournal.com profile] jacqui_hw bought a copy but I'm optimistic that we'll get a better one before the end of the holiday

We went to the PotC restaurant tonight which does all kind of lovely Caribbean food. It was wonderful. Our table was right by the water so we could watch the boats from the ride go past us. I had swordfish for my main course and coconut creme brulee for dessert. Had a yummy fruit and rum cocktail to drink and all was good. We're going to the Disney Studios tomorrow so that should be fun. Now I'd better get some sleep so I'm a bit less knackered tomorrow

Tuesday 11th May

Felt a lot less groggy and sleepy today which was good. Weather was also lovely. Nice and sunny so I didn't even have to wear my coat. The Disney Studios were great. It was all sorts of behind the scenes stuff with a few rides thrown in too. We went on a Tram Ride which took us onto a 'film set'. There was an earthquake, explosions and gallons of water pouring down on us. Then we went onto a mock set from Reign of Fire and we had blasts of flame from a dragon shot at us. I wasn't expecting it at all and I screamed. LOL. Very embarassing.

The Aerosmith Rollercoaster was possibly the scariest thing I've ever been on, and not just because I had Steve Tyler wailing in my ear the whole way round. It was the fastest ride I've ever been on and everyone looked utterly terrified in the photos. Should have bought one for the sheer amusement factor. Ah well.

We went on an Armageddon special effects ride where you stand in a mock-up of one of the sets and they simulate an astaroid field hitting you. I thought it was going to be crap. There were lots of bangs and noises and that seems to be it. Then the floor started jolting and things started catching fire. THAT made me scream. Again, embarassment for Hils.

What WAS fun was a thing where you got to design your own rollercoaster and then ride it in a vitual reality simulator. We should have made ours a bit more scary though. It only got a 2/5 fear rating.

In the afternoon we watched a live stunt show which was very cool and to end the trip we went to this history of cinema thing. It was like the think Billy Crystal does at the Oscars where he puts himself into films, only this one starred Martin Short. It was still good though.

Afterwards we went into the Disneyland Park for dinner. We went to this lovely Edwardian style place that did an all you can eat buffet. This included the most divine chocolate mousse I have ever tasted. Had a BIG bowl of the stuff.

Of course we ended the day with a couple of rides on Pirates. We're up to 10 times now. Very sad I know. Last day tomorrow. Final bunch of rides and shopping galore!

Wednesday 12th May

15 times!!!! We've been on Pirates 15 times and I didn't manage to get a single decent official photo. Something was wrong with every single one of them. Today we couldn't get a front seat on ANY of the boats. Finally I realised God just didn't want me to have a photo so I gave up.

Aside from that and all the restaurants being full at dinner time it's been a good day. We went on all our favourite rides again, watched the parade and shopped. I am now the proud owner of two pirates tops, a flag and a skull money box. I might wear one of my new tops when I meet James on Saturday. Sad to think that this time next week I'll have been back at work for 3 days *sigh*
