hilsNow I'm not on a crappy Hilton keyboard I can do a decent update
As I said, this was hilarious. Some stuff from the Bewilderness tour and 80% new stuff. Managed to take some sneaky photos even though we were supposed to. Other people were doing it so I figured what the hell. He did the Drum and Bush track which is HILARIOUS and took the piss out of GW unmercilessly. All in all it was a good night out
One day I will get over this camera thing, but every time I see someone say they weren't even asked what sort of camera they had I get angry again. I know I was still there and I still enjoyed the gig, but I like taking photos. It gives me something to remember them by and it gives me something to share with those who weren't able to go. I think I'd be less engry if they'd said no cameras at all, but to let some people take them in and not others just pisses me off
I may actually write to the club when I get home and complain. God knows if and when I'll get to see them again. It's not like they come to Europe all the time *sigh*
Still, it WAS a good gig. We were slightly further back than Edinburgh but I still had a clear view of James. He threw a drumstick into the crowd at the end of the night and it landed right at my feet. Alas, someone else grabbed it before I could.
What was realy funny was that some girls on the front row were doing SOMETHING. I don't know what, but James kept averting his eyes and asking them to stop becase he couldn't concentrate. LOL. My guess is they were flashing him or something. It was quite funny really.
Hee. James has a really geeky laugh doesn't he. It makes me giggle.
A couple of times he left the stage and let Charlie sing lead. Makes me wonder if he's making way for leaving the band and letting Charlie take over? Just a hunch. Charlie certainly seems to be the brains behind the band. He keeps James straight and corrects him if he makes any mistakes. Whenever James gets something wrong it's always 'ooh, Charlie is going to kill me for that'
What I do find sad is the fact that not many people will go and see the band if James isn't fronting it. 99% of the audience were there for him I'd say, and it's a shame because they do pretty good songs.
Of course, the 'take your shirt off crowd' were there as they are at most James appearances. It makes me quite embarassed when they start shouting that. I'm amazed James stays calm. If I heard that every time I went anywhere I think I'd start to get pissed off
There were some girls behind us who must have only been about 12 or 13. While we were waiting for the band to come on they were talking loudly amongst themselves saying
"Wouldn't it be cool if James came out with no shirt on and in full vamp face"
HELLO!!??
A. This isn't a Buffy convention
B. This isn't a topless model show
Good grief!
Anyway, I promise to stop ranting about cameras and whatnot now. Hopefully I'll get some good pics at JM Live next Saturday
