Just been reading the journal of the_royal_anna and she's done an amazing job of putting into words so many of my feelings about Chosen. However, I just need to add a couple of my own thoughts



Granted, Anna's journal is the only one I've read so far, but I've been chatting to a few people about this episode. Am I to take it that the general consensus of opinion in the spuffy world is this

a. They had off screen sex in the episode

b. When Buffy told Spike she loved him she really meant it.

Ok, the first one I can deal with. It didn't really jump out at me, but I suppose it could have happened.

Now, as much of a spuffy lover as I am, I really don't know if I agree with the second point. After her big talk to Angel about cookie dough and not being ready, didn't Buffy imply to Angel that when she WAS ready that he'd be the one she looked for? Am I reading this too much on a surface level.

Same with the declaration of love at the end. When she said it for a split second I thought she meant it, but as soon as Spike said 'no you don't' I knew that he was right. She was telling him what he's been longing to hear so that, even if it wasn't true, he'd die happy.

I'm interested to see how people who aren't die hard Spuffy shippers interpreted this episode.

Anyway, better go to work and hope I can last the day without crying
