Some of you may have noticed I wasn't aroung yesterday. Unfortunatley had a bit of a saga with the installation of my CD Writer
Phoned the PC World callcentre on Wednesday to find out how much it was going to cost to get the driver installed. I was given a quote and I asked how long it's going to take
PCW: Oh, it's just a half an hour job
Me: Ok, do I need to book it in or anything
PCW: No just bring your base unit and the driver in and we'll do it for you
So I trundled in yesterday with the plan to leave my PC with them, do some shopping and then pick it up. So I was less than pleased when the guy behind the counter told me there was a three day waiting list and that I should have booked.
I expressed my displeasure most heartily. Especially since I can't drive and I'd had to get my mum to to take me (She lives 30 miles away).
Anyway, the guy I ranted at was most appologetic and an hour later I got a call saying that because the callcentre had misinformed me that they'd done it straight away. Unfortunatley by this point I was back at home and mum had gone. She was wonderful though and agreed to come back today so I could pick it up.
They were most appologetic again and knocked £10 off my installation fee to make up for the inconvenience.
So anyway, I'm back and I have a CD Writer. I have also learned that whilst the PC World callcentre is shite, the in store staff are very helpful.
Now I'm going to burn some CDs. WHEE!
