hilsOk, I'm sober now and thankfully not too hungover. I'm now in a fit state of mind to post about the party propely (the stuff I can remember anyway)
Went to work in the morning and pretty much pottered around until lunchtime. Then we drove over to the resaurant. It was nice. Quite small which made it quite cosy. The food was lovely and I got a box of chocs from my secret santa (they're looking at me right now but I WON'T eat them)
I was quite well restrained and only had a glass of wine with my meal. Alas we went to the pub after that and it all went downhill.
Sat down and was immediately asked if I wanted a drink. I asked for a glass of red wine and was present with this HUGE glass. The girls I was sitting with had a bottle and insisted on topping me up when my glass got to about half full. Wine. Evil.
Was then asked by someone else if I wanted a drink. Asked for a vodka and orange. Was presented with a glass and was halfway through drinking it when I was told that it was in fact a double vodka. Finished that and somehow ended up with another one in my hand. That was it, I was gone.
Spent about an hour garbling drunkenly to a few other equally drunk people from my office and then I got a text message from![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
padfoot_uk saying she was in York. Decided to go meet her.
Met her in Old Orleans and had a cocktail shoved at me. Of course I had to drink it. Lot of hugs were exchanged and I met some of her work buddies who seemed really nice. Then it was time for me to stumble home.
Got home and babbled like an idiot to Tom for a while. Have no idea what I said but I'm fairly sure it made no sense. Then he phone Rob so I called my parents and garbled drunkenly at them for a while. Somehow ended up telling my dad that joining the Police was a good idea and that maybe I should consider it. I DON'T THINK SO!! Still, he needs to get in shape to apply so I said I'd go running with him over Christmas so that I can start working towards my flat stomach. Whether this will happen or not I don't know.
Finished talking to Dad and then chatted to Rob. Thankfully I was a little more sober by this point. Once to conversation was over I pretty much collapsed in bed and went to sleep.
Woke up this morning feeling not as bad as I'd expected. Went to the post office to pick up my prezzie fromserendipitysho. Have managed to resist the urge to open it. I'm trying to save all my prezzies for Christmas.
That's pretty much been it.
Now I'm going to do what a few of my other LJ friends have done. The idea is to describe the people on your LJ friends list without using their names. I have a feeling most of mine will be pretty obvious but here we go
1. You've been writing Spuffy fic for about as long as me and you're always willing to give me a pep talk when I need it.
2. We met through Spuffy fics but now we can chat about pretty much everything. I tell you stuff that I don't tell anyone else.
3. I met you when you kindly answered my plea for a new LJ icon
4. You wrote the first Buffy fanfiction I ever read and you also got me interested in slash
5. You own the best slash site out there and I always go to you for help with my slashy needs
5. I met you on one of my mailing lists and you always post very insightful entries. Nice to meet a fellow writer.
6. I met you on Crumbling Walls and you made a deep effort to convert a friend of mine to Spuffyness.
7. I've known you the longest and it was you that got me to sign up for LJ.
8. We were united by a love of Buffy and then found out we actually have a lot in common
9. I met you through a fellow LJ friend but you're cool. Plus you killed Avril for me ;)
10. I think I found your LJ through someone else but you write some of the most beatiful fics I've ever read
11. Someone pointed me in the direction of you LJ and I was chuffed to bits when you added me as a friend. You rock!
12. If it wasn't for the internet we would never have met and never spent those weekends curled up on your sofa watching Buffy together.
