Well, I've posted my comments about Angel. Now it's time for Buffy.
It's been a bit of an odd season, there was no real main villain until towards the end but I guess that was the point. Joss and co wanted to deal with growing up, and each character up to a point was their own worst enemy.
What did I like about the Season? Well, Buffy and Spike finally did the deed, several times, which as a shipper is what I've been longing for. It hasn't been easy but they made a start. I loved the bringing back of Buffy from the dead, Bargaining was one of the strongest episodes in my opinion. Evil Willow was cool in a scary kind of way and who out there didn't let out a cheer when Giles came back? I was gutted when he left, cried and everything.
Now for the bad. I've already mentioned the weak plots. This season has obviously been about growing up, with a vague bit of fantasy thrown in to keep up the genre. Overall it was all a little too Beverley Hills 90210 for me. Dawn seemed to spend the whole season either getting kidnapped or whining about stuff (although it was cool to see her kicking a little demon ass in the finale). Xander just needs a good kick in the head, and nothing pleased me more than when he saw Anya and Spike shagging. Also, HATED the attempted rape scene and Tara's death. But I suppose I can see why they were needed.
Now for the clincher. Spike's soul. What did I think about it? Honest answer, not sure. At first I was pretty annoyed, thinking we were just going to have another Angel on our hands. But I suppose the writers aren't stupid enough to do the same thing twice. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what Season 7 brings.
