The last couple of days
Jan. 29th, 2002 09:37 pmBit freaked out at the moment. Last night when I was walking home in the gale force winds I saw a police car pull over and noticed one of the roads I walk past every day was blocked. I figured that there was some sort of robbery or something going on and I kept walking. Found out this morning that what had actually happened was a stne gargoyle had been blown off a church and it had hit a woman, killing her. I walk past there every day and judging by the fact the police were just arriving as I went home means I must have only missed it by a few minutes. On top of all that a few minutes earlier the wind was so strong that I got blown in front of a car. Luckily it wasn't going very fast and managed to stop in time but it could have been a LOT worse.
It's things like this that make me realise that I really need to make the most of my life. Who knows when it could all be over. I bet that woman left the house yesterday morning having no idea that she was never going to be coming home. It's a very sombering thought.
