Hockey Road Trip - Day 3
Feb. 1st, 2017 08:12 pmThis was the day our road trip properly began so we packed up our things, loaded up the car and set off for Vermont.
There was a bit of snow which made for some pretty pics when we crossed the state border and stopped for a rest break

Our first stop was the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory. We did a little tour which was nice and we got to see how the bears are made. They're expensive but they're guaranteed for life so if anything happens to the bear it will be repaired or replaced. Pretty cool.
I resisted the urge to buy a bear but
morganoconner caved

Pictured with Sidney Penguin whose adventures will be documented at a later time this bear's full name is apparently Evgeni Beary Malkin but he goes by Geno
After that we headed off to the Ben and Jerry's factory for another tour. It was a lot of fun. Our tour guide had a really dry sense of humour and kept cracking terrible jokes.
The funniest bit was this though
morganoconner: Hey, there's a flavour that's called Caramel Hat Trick in Canada
Me: We should get some since Geno scored a hat trick last night.
*at the end of the tour*
Tour Guide: And now we have a free sample for you to enjoy. Triple Caramel Chunk which is called Caramel Chew Chew in the UK, and Caramel Hat Trick in Canada
Me and M: OMG IT'S A SIGN FROM THE HOCKEY GODS
It was really yummy though

Since we hadn't had lunch we decided to get MOAR ice cream and everyone was recommending the Maple Walnut so I decided to give it a go. It was really nice! New England is REALLY into its maple syrup :D

One the way to our hotel we went past a weird sculpture along the side of the road. We looked it up later and apparently this is supposed to represent the fragility of the planet

By the time we'd got to our hotel and checked in we were all pretty tired so we decided to order pizza. I went along with just getting plain pizza this time and we were slightly baffled when Dominos also provided us with plates. Never had that happen before not even when I've ordered pizza in a hotel.

When we were heading up to our room I'd spotted a cozy looking lounge area with a log fire that looked perfect for reading. Decided to head down with my Kindle after we'd eaten but I was so tired I only lasted about half an hour before heading back up to the room and crawling into bed
