To be honest, after winning gold once more, Victor feels lost more than anything. What does one do after finally fulfilling a longtime promise?
In which Victor helps Yuuri with his skating, but Yuuri helps Victor find himself again.

Usually I don’t drive straight into AU fics when I get into a new fandom but I’m so glad I did with this because OMG it is amazing!

The ring represents so much—so much sacrifice and pain and exhaustion and elation. He’s proud, of course he is. Winning another Cup is all he’s ever wanted, all he hoped it would be. And yet.
He closes his hand over the bright glitter of the ring, and lets the empty spaces inside himself ache. He doesn’t even know what for. Or, more honestly, he won’t allow himself to know what for. He leaves the ring twinking by itself on the counter and climbs the stairs to take his sore head and heart to bed.

Sidney jerks awake, bleary and disoriented, with his mouth open on words already forgotten and a tightness in his chest that he knows is loss and longing.
Sidney dreams, memories of a past life intruding on the one he's living now. But there's no such thing as selkies, and no such thing as a love that lasts across two lifetimes. Until, of course, there is.
