jacqui_hw and I are watching Season One of Gossip Girl (kindly loaned to me by lou_angel

We've watched the first three episodes which is far as I got the first time around before I stopped downloading (because I had no time to watch it not because I didn't like it)

I still want to smish Eric and Jenny together

(user *should* work, but I'm not sure what the behavior you're seeing and what you're expecting?)

I'm trying to link to an LJ user using the LJ user code but it defaults to a DW account for some reason

Ahh, ok, that's the confusion then. The lj user tag came from the old livejournal code, it can only understand "self" being in this case dreamwidth.
If you want to link to actual livejournal users from somewhere on dreamwidth you need to use the new [user site="livejournal" name="user"] style as that is brand new code that knows how to make sense of the difference between dreamwidth and livejournal. Then it will when crossposted act like a normal lj user tag.

I mainlined Seasons 1 and 2 within a couple of weeks. It's such an addictive show! And there are more than a few parallels between Chuck Bass and Lex Luthor - although I think the writers on GG are a lot more sympathetic to Chuck than SV's ever were toward Lex.

And you don't really want to put Eric and Jenny together, do you? I keep mentally slashing Chuck and Nate... :P
