This is my first go at cross-posting

The novelty of Twitter is wearing off for me. I'm considering deleting my account. At the very least I need to remove Twitterfox so I don't keep getting a popup every time someone tweets

You can has a crosspost!

Yeah, I've been following the dreamwidth stuff on twitter and I've got some of the higherups from my new show (Leverage) on twitter but other than that, I'm not really all about telling people about the mundane details of my life. I'm trying to get some more day to day real life stuff in dw/lj 'tho, so hopefully that will work out better.

I still like Twitter, but I do worry that I've got too many celebs on there now, would rather have real people that replied to me, and I could reply to them, without feeling it's gone straight into the ether. Then I think, what if I miss something awesome?

With starting up new blogs, I'm going to put a Twitter boxes on my blogs that put the last five posts up, so that people can see I'm an active real person.

Plus, for me it gives me an added facade, I don't want people to know about my LJ, unless I let them - but anyone can access my twitter account, there's not much on there I want to hide from work or family.

Aye. My parents are both on Twitter but they always forget to check it. Probably for the best given that I talk about writing porn

My family aren't on Twitter, but I'd be cool with them following me on Twitter - however I won't allow them to befriend me on Facebook, and they don't even know I'm on LJ. I'm a weirdly divided person, where I try to avoid the world of my friends, work, and family interacting, or seeing how I am in the worlds they're not part of.

I've tried to be quite selective about Twitter but, yeah, it does get a bit silly sometimes. I've never used Twitterfox but Twhirl and Tweetdeck are both pretty good (Tweetdeck also lets you filter)

Maybe I'll give tweetdeck a try. I've at least heard of that one

I use Tweetdeck, it's nice and fast, and handles Facebook statuses too (both sending your own, and receiving others).

I have filters for celebs, real friends - and the pre-requisite all, plus Facebook. You can filter on any group of people though - and it's got Twitter search and stuff built in.

I can't get the crossposting to work. I think I ticked all of the ticky boxes.

Also, I'm a little weirded out, in a good way, that your lj now says to grope an Angel!!!! LOL

If you right click on twitterfox there is an option to turn off the popups. I use it on occasions when I have people who tweet 5/6 times in a couple minutes

I've just removed it now. I was getting fed up of the little thing telling me I had hundreds of unread tweets

Yeah, I barely pay attention to Twitter anymore. I have a couple of friend who constantly put links up and of course I have it enabled on my phone and that's just annoying.

I've been pretty selective on my friends for Twitter - mostly people that I just want to hear how their day is going.

Yeah, I think I need to do some filtering too
