What to do

I'm currently sitting on the fence regarding the whole cross-posting thing. I wasn't going to do it because everyone who had me added on here was also on my LJ, but that's no longer the case. I dunno. If I don't cross post I'm not really sure what to do with this thing

I also have to figure out the layouts and stuff because at the moment my DW looks...well, crappy. LOL. I need a pretty header. Can you add those on a free account?

As I understand it, they're working on some more design templates to unveil soon. Until then, there's this and this (which granted I haven't tried yet so I don't know how hard it is) to get you started.

If it's anything like what happened when we moved to IJ, there will soon be loads of people creating all sorts of pretty layout schemes. That community dreamwidthlayouts will be one to watch.

I started acquiring different friends within two days of setting up the account -- and if I acquire them over here, I'm not necessarily going to go looking for them over at LJ, so I'll definitely be cross-posting for the moment. Eventually, there may come some entries that aren't because they're going to different circles.

My FL has divided quite neatly (mostly by fandom!) into those who are also on DW and those who aren't. Cross-posting looks like the way to go, at the moment at least

Crossposting has been pretty painless thus far, the only problem I've had is divided comments :( But with the number of people I've got on both getting higher daily soon that may not be too much of a problem.

Yes, you can definitely apply headers or background graphics to your free journal, I just did a background in mine.
