With more snow on the way I'm starting to worry I won't make it to London next weekend. I will be vey sad if this happens, especially as my train tickets are non-refundable :(

There is, in fact, a wrong kind of snow where railways are concerned, much as people mock the railway operators for it. That very fine, powdery snow we sometimes get finds itself getting into the points, and if the points don't work, the railway doesn't work.

(The curse of growing up with a railwayman as a dad...)

How can they not refund the tickets if the train isn't working?

They were super-cheap and one of the conditions is that you can't get a refund. Actually, I might be able to if the train gets cancelled. Not sure.

You should at least be able to get a rain-check (snow-check?). They'd have charged you for service they aren't providing otherwise.

I think no refund refers to you cancelling the trip, not them.

It's been so cold here that some of the more heavily frozen stuff is still around. I noticed the lakes at Bluewater are frozen as well this morning. *shivers*

The temperatures here have barely been making it above freezing at all. It was -3C when I went out to get petrol first thing this morning.

We had a spring day in Brighton today - blue sky & briliant sunshine ... t-shirts!!!!

... It's raining now though. They keep saying the snow is on its way back, but no sign so far! Fingers Crossed for next week - would love to meet you :D.

It should be fine. Strong winds are pusher snow storms further and further north apparently and there should be rain by Wednesday.
