Eh, it was ok.

I have suddenly realised that the girl playing Ruby is actually pretty bad. The scene with her and Sam in this episode was just...boring.

I liked the little story about the old guys dealing with getting old but mostly it was just average. I have to say I'm just going through the motions with this show now.

Ah well, I fully expect half of fandom to jump on my head now.

Hey, I've very recently (two days ago) discovered Supernatural, too! Am at eppie 8. Does it get much worse? I was a little disappointed by ep 8, what with the attack of the killer bugs. You're in a house with KILLER BEES for an ENTIRE NIGHT (and no way time passed that fast, anyway), and you don't die? Nu nu nu. Plotfail. So I'm a little worried about the rest. I was hoping this was a show I could stick with a while.

Oh, Season 1 is awesome! LOL! Stick with it. I'd say stop after the end of Season 2 but I suspect fandom will disagree with me

Hm. That's not hugely reassuring. I'm not very fannish over s1 to begin with, it's just an acceptable thing to watch during dinner. Maybe I'm picky, but I'm finding the intelligence lacking a bit from the show. It's predictale.

*sigh* Wish there was more Merlin. Or True Blood. Or Being Human. Or that Josh's new show would hurry the frak up.

Well, not enjoying is a strong word. It's the only halfway entertaining thing I've found, after dismissing Dexter, The Wire, The Shield, Life on Mars, and being pretty much unable to obtain S1 of pushing daisies, which 1st ep seemed promising.

And damn you. Looking at your icons makes me want to somehow dl smallville to give it a second chance. I think I saw up to S2. Worth y/n? I'm running out of harddrive.

Give it a chance beyond S2. S1 is actually my least favorite season; it's overly simple because it's establishing the ground rules. S2 starts getting into the mytharc more, and also has some of my all-time favorite episodes (CROSSROAD BLUES, ZOMG). S3 suffers a bit because of the writer's strike, but S4 has been my favorite so far. (Although there is a huge divide; some people REALLY don't like, while others, like me, are going ga-ga for it.) Basically? Keep watching and see if it pushes or doesn't push your buttons. :)

And you're right: BUGS IS A HORRIBLE EPISODE. Even the guys who made it acknowledge it was a horrible episode. Kripke has apologized for it more than once.

My daughter (our big SPN fan here) agrees with you-- she hates the new Ruby and says she can't act. I was particularly annoyed with her in the last episode, too. She just seemed really stiff.

My daughter is also growing unhappy with SPN. I still enjoy it, but I'm a newbie and haven't seen anything close to the whole series, so I don't think I know enough to know top SPN quality when I see it:-).

I didn't like the episode either. I really dislike new!Ruby and I want to smack Sam until he passes out or his brain starts working again. The episode was flat. I couldn't even get excited over Dean getting hanged. I kind of wanted Sam to use his powers again to move stuff, even if it would make the angels cranky. I would've preferred it to him going off with Ruby again.

You watched 12 eps before realising this???????????? You could tell from the moment she opened her mouth in 4x1! In fact, I knew she was useless before the season started as someone told me GC was a crap actress. How right they were.

This wasn't a great ep. Not bad, but merely solid.

After Ruby rocked so very much last season, this seasons Ruby is awful. She's really very terrible.

I didn't like this episode much either. In fact, I liked the episode before that one even less. Tonight's episode looks promising though. *hopes*

I still like Ruby, lol. She's not that bad.

But the scene in the hotel room where Sam and Dean talk, that's a brilliant scene <3 Broke my heart ... again.
