I am a goat and there is definitely a lot of me in there
Occupying the 8th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Goat (or Sheep) symbolizes such character traits as creativity, intelligence, dependability, and calmness. Comfortable being alone to ponder the workings of their inner minds, Goats enjoy being part of a group, but prefer the sidelines rather than the center. Their nurturing personality makes Goats excellent care-givers. They’re quite and reserved because they spend much time absorbed in their thoughts.
Creativity is a definite, obviously. LOL. I'm not sure I'd describe myself as intelligent. I'm not stupid by any means but there's plenty of people out there more clever than me. I'd say I'm of average intelligence. I do my best to be dependable. I hope I am. Calmness is a tricky one. Sometimes I can be totally calm in a stressful situation but other times (my driving for example) I freak out
I have to say I do prefer to be at the center of a group. I tend to throw myself very enthusiastically into things and like to be as involved as I can.
I can be quiet but I can also be loud and excitable depending on the occasion.
I definitely think too much.
Home and alone is where Goats feel most comfortable. There they can express themselves artistically, whether it’s by painting, cooking or participating in whatever artistic endeavors they enjoy. Goats prefer the couch because there they can relax and explore their minds. They don’t need elaborate furnishings; only items reflecting their desire for art.
Absolutely! I love being at home so I can work on fic and icons. Replace couch with bed, but only because my bedroom is the quietest room in the flat and I need quiet to write.
When traveling or seeking entertainment, Goats prefer groups or venues that hold many people. Goats spend money on fashions that give them a first class appearance. Although Goats enjoy spending money on the finer things in life, they are not snobbish.
The group thing is definitely true, the money thing less so. I am so not fashion conscious it's unreal. I'm quite happy in jeans and a t-shirt.
Perhaps because Goats are basically serene, they tend to have fewer health problems. Their fragile exterior hides the fact they’re typically very healthy. When they’re happy, they’re healthy. When Goats become unhappy, especially as a result of romance, they quickly become sick.
That's true. I haven't had a sick day from work in well over a year.
Goats tend to be private, so it can take effort to get to know one. The Goat is the one who will decide when and with whom it will share its personal life. As a result, most Goats have few “close” friends, yet they’ll work hard for those they love.
Yup, true.
Goats at work prefer being part of a flock. Power and status aren’t important. Goats will only assume leadership roles when asked directly. They’ll never volunteer. Good career choices for Goats include: florist, interior designer, daycare teacher, pediatrician, actor, editor, hair stylist, illustrator, musician, and art history teacher.
In terms of work I definitely prefer to be part of a team. I am not ambitious at all. Writer isn't in the list of ideal careers but there's similar stuff there
I was also born in an Earth year
Stable with feet firmly planted in the ground, Earth Goats are conservative, independent and practical, but not very confident in themselves. Most important in life is the family and they truly enjoy all that life has to offer.
Yup, that is all true!

Date: 2009-01-26 02:00 pm (UTC)Maybe it's the ones that correspond weirdly like that who it's most true about..Although that's probably wrong too, because 'metal, wood, fire, water, earth' doesn't correspond to 'earth, air, fire, water'.. And that doesn't really work..Especially not if virgo doesn't really work for you..
Am I rambling? I'm rambling, aren't I?
I'm a goat too. Libra. Which is air.. and actually, if you know all that, then you already know a LOT about me. Because it's pretty much all true. Heh, that narrows my age down to what, 18, 30 or 42 this year? :P

Date: 2009-01-26 02:34 pm (UTC)I don't read for friends. Okay, lie. I have. Sort of. We knew about a situation a year in advance. Although of course, we didn't know the connection until after it started and I'd read back through the long group emails..

Date: 2009-01-26 02:36 pm (UTC)Oh, yeah, I got into trouble when I did a reading for one of my friends and she became really paranoid about everything. I stopped after that.
I still occasionally read for myself but I do it so infrequently I don't think I'm really tuned into my cards any more.

Date: 2009-01-26 02:53 pm (UTC)Okay..let's see..omitting the obvious ones of 'merlin, slash, fanfiction, tarot' we have:
photoshop, drawing, art, special effects, technology, fantasy, sci-fi, reading, final fantasy, video games, moogles, cats, John barrowman, David tennant, Gareth David-Lloyd, Torchwood, Doctor who, star wars, lord of the rings, black books, dylan moran, bill bailey, photography, baz luhrmann films, manga and anime (although not as much anymore), music, piano, charmed, dream interpretation, symbolism, literature, puzzles, musicals...
Let's try that for now.. Oh..and there are some that I think are highly unlikely, but I'll throw them up anyway.. asian music and taiwanese dramas. Won't go into detail there..

Date: 2009-01-26 03:43 pm (UTC)photoshop - No, but I do use PSP. I could never get the hang of Photoshop - Essentially the same. You get what I mean..graphics editing programs. Not vector ones though. They annoy me a little.
drawing - I am very jealous of people who can draw ;) - so am I.
art - Well, I can appreciate art. Not modern art though. Ick - same here. Seriously.
special effects - I'm indifferent really, unless it's done really well or really badly - I'd love to work for The Mill...
technology - OH HELL YES! - haha, do you have to convince yourself that no, you don't really need that new [item] because you have have a perfectly functional [item] already? mental arguments? Asked by friends what they should get or how to do things?
fantasy - Yup! My favourite genre of fiction - :D Mine too. But not the stereotypical ones..
sci-fi - I like sci-fi TV shows - reading sci-fi often gets confusing..
reading - Yes, yes yes! - :D
final fantasy - I've played and completed 7, 8 and 9. I'm halfway through 10 - I found the pc version of 7 when we were cleaning out the garage so my brother could dump more junk downstairs. Okay. not junk. More like..the entire contents of his house. Literally. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me! Installed fine, but...nothing. :( So sad. I've finished X and III. Am playing X-2, XII, IV, Tactics Advance (have been since I got it YEARS ago), Tactics A-2, Revenant Wings. But I don't get much time to play.
video games - Yup! Mostly on my DS at the moment but I fear I will soon cave and get an Xbox 360 - Mostly on my DS as well. More convenient. I have a ps2, but it's not hooked up at the moment (new tv - lol, actually, my brother's tv. You get audio but no visuals. I haven't bothered to fiddle yet..I had to steal the cables from the VCR to connect the set top box...)
moogles - Kupo! - As my friend would say, fantastikupo! (sp?)
cats - I've had a cat as long as I can remember. Sadly at the moment my landlord doesn't allow pets but my parents have a kitty that I can visit - I don't have a cat. But I love them. Actually, my friends call me a cat..
John barrowman - I've met him. Lovely man. - okay, starting to get jealous here.
David tennant - Saw him in Hamlet last year. -...more jealous
Gareth David-Lloyd - I love him. - :D
Torchwood - I love it. Season 2 is still very expensive on DVD. I want it :( - Um..you should count yourself lucky.. Season 1 is the same price as season 2 here - $109.95
Doctor Who - I love it, but prefer Torchwood I think - Me too. But I love the time part of Doctor who. Always been interested in time.
Star wars - I've seen all the films... - Same.
-it's telling me too long, so I'll continue this in another comment..
-continued
Date: 2009-01-26 03:44 pm (UTC)black books - I love it! I have it all on DVD - hehe..I ate your bees!
dylan moran - I have his DVD. Hilarious! - he's been here for the comedy festival...I think. We didn't go. I can't remember why..
Bill bailey - I've seen him live. Brilliant - jealousy levels increasing
Photography - I always have my camera in my bag in case I see anything pretty or interesting - me too! I have all these ones recently from a beach. The sky was so blue, it didn't look real..
Baz luhrmann films - Yes! I love them all...although I haven't see Australia yet - Heh, neither have I. I've seen part of a set for it though! Come to think of it, if I went to someone who hadn't heard of the film and said 'I haven't seen Australia yet.' they'll probably think I'm mad. (Australian)
Manga and anime - Not so much - I was throwing in everything I could think of..
Music - I have 8GB of music on my iPod - I have more than you..then again, that's because I'm sorting through all my brothers'/sister's stuff..if I ever need more space, I'll go on a music deleting spree.
Piano - I like listening to it. - I play. Badly.
Charmed - No - lol.
Dream interpretation - I find it fascinating. Wish I knew more about it - mainly a lot of symbolism. dream dictionaries are good for symbolism in general.
symbolism - Interesting
literature - Half my uni degree is in English Lit - I've studied it. Not a uni degree though. I could probably still tell you a LOT about DH Lawrence..and John Donne for some reason influences some of my fic..
puzzles - I like crosswords - sudoku, crosswords, wordfind, jigsaw puzzles..
musicals - I like some - les mis?
Huh. I think it makes us VERY, VERY close to being the same person. :D I had other things to add to this...but I forgot..

Date: 2009-01-26 04:29 pm (UTC)This is the joy of LJ! You get to meet people on different CONTINENTS with the same interests as you. Brilliant!
I hope you're not so jealous that you want to de-friend me now *sniff*
Re: -continued
Date: 2009-01-26 04:44 pm (UTC)Les Mis is my favourite musical. I don't even think Wicked in two days time will trump it..
I have a feeling you have more in common with me than most of my real life friends..though we're all really close! Ahh...the wonders of LJ.
