First of all did you know that today is John Hurt's birthday. Who wants to write Slash Dragon birthday fic?

I have spent most of today being productive and non productive at the same time, if that makes any sense.

In terms of actual work I have done very little and have spent most of the day supervising builders in our server room *yawn*

In terms of fandom activity I have done lots. LOL. Have made steady progress with my mpreg although I'm still scared it's going to turn into an epic

I've also worked out how to start the Bradley James Mancrush fic for [livejournal.com profile] bj_mancrushes. YAY!

I re-watched the cast video diary while I was waiting. God, I love Bradley so much. He's just cute beyond words.

I really, really, REALLY want to go to Pierrefonds some time this year.

If [livejournal.com profile] takadainmate had had her passport on her last night we might have ended up in Paris but luckily for our bank accounts she didn't :D

We have to plan it properly now since I'll need to get another Shengen Visa as my current one expires the end of Feb.

But we won't be planning anything in till March as I'm quite busy for most of February

I have Italy in two weeks. (Only booked it today though) and South Africa in two months and then I will need to save up for the France trip :D

Where are you going in September?

Italy I think, although we're having some problems with it at the moment so it could well be Paris. Maybe we could do the trip then *g*

September I won't be able to do as I will hopefully be in the USA. I still have to book my tickets home but I'll be leaving the UK in early July. I'm staying just long enough for [livejournal.com profile] merlinmeet

Okay. I tried to resist. Apparently I am the comment!fic queen today.

On his 3000th birthday, the Great dragon had called, "I am three millenia old. I am the most powerful of all of you. What have you got for me?"

The dragons smiled and looked pleased with themselves and said, "We got you some socks."

"I don't have feet," the dragon pointed out.

"Ahhh but if you did," they said. "You would love them."

The Great dragon did not bother to point out the obvious that he still did not have feet for it seemed pointless. So he sighed and said "Thanks," and was not at all surprised when all the other dragons ended up dead.

"Humans are cruel, and take advantage of the weak and the stupid," he told Merlin once, some centuries later. He hoped that Merlin did not miss the fact that he looked pointedly down at him and raised one massive eyebrow as he emphasised the word stupid.

"They are not all bad," he replied, clearly having completely failed to notice what the dragon had actually said after all. The Great dragon just rolled his eyes and decided to go with it, for the sake of his health.

"Yes, Merlin," he sighed.

"And I remembered it was your birthday today!" Merlin said then. "I brought you a gift!"

The Great dragon perked up a bit at that, wondering if Merlin was really not as stupid as looked. "I am 4000 today," the dragon intoned hautily. "And the last of the dragons. What have you brought for me?"

"Well," Merlin replied, looking sheepish. "It's always so cold in here so I thought, well, I made you socks."

The dragon wondered if he might cry in dispair. "I haven't got feet," he heard himself say.

Merlin smiled. "Oh, I know!" he said. "I made them dragon-sized!"

And it was a very sad state, the Great dragon lamented, when this was an improvement on his last gift.
