For a book, I recommend any Jim Butcher book, but mostly the Codex Alera books.

He has some shorter books and has written a few comic series based on his Harry Dresden books, but the Codex Alera series is so good its addictive.

He's putting out books about once a year in the series and plans 8 total. Book 5 was just released in November.

OOH! Thanks! I have the audio book of the first Dresden Files series (read by James Marsters) but I prefer paper books

Yeah, those are wonderful, but the Codex Alera (which won't be read by James) are terrific.

Also, if you still want a fanfic rec, I rec [livejournal.com profile] freece's Captive Prince.

It's a WIP and original, so not really a fanfic, but it's such an intriguing premise, I tried the first two and I was completely hooked.

I highly rec that one.

Try it and read at least the first two updates, the prologue and chapter one, and you'll be hooked too.

You'll see...

It is where people have tried to make bigger and better versions of common snacky foods and sometimes the results are absurdly hilarious and dumb.
My favourite is the GIANT CREME EGG which is the size of a kettle and is here: http://www.pimpthatsnack.com/project.php?projectID=302

I suspect most of the contributors to this site are students :D *bless them*

I love this site! We actually tried to make the creme egg last year, and then realised that it would never fit in the fridge. :D

And you're probably right about the students. My friends and I spend way too much time on this website.

*wishes she really didn't do this sort of thing as a student, because then maybe she'd get better grades!*

But seriously, I need to find someone whose fridge is big enough. :D

XD You have no idea how much I would love that. We were so excited by the thought of a giant creme egg that would take hours to eat. (with a spoon, of course!)

It is! One of my RP group friends recommended it; and then Mr Stross was a guest at Orbital, so it seems right to pick it up.

If you like crime genre pick up One For the Money by Janet Evanovich.

Book I Should Read: Atonement by Ian McEwan (for a good cry)
Movie I Should See: Penelope Download the torrent—the DVD version cut a lot of good content and lines out. It's seeded enough that it downloads in about fifteen to twenty minutes with high speed.
Band/CD I Should Listen To: Ludo, "You're Awful, I Love You"
TV Show I Should Watch: Mini-series, really—Tin Man. It's epic-good.
Website I Should Visit: Abstract Fonts—where I spend waaaay too much of my time.
Fanfiction I should read: Anything I write. That's total bollocks—I haven't been able to write anything for some time. Plus, I can't think of one specifically cool enough to rec by anyone else. Or me.
