First day back at work was made much less painful by the heating breaking in the main building we support and the majority of our users getting sent home. Took the Christmas decorations down, did a few jobs through the day and left early to go into town and buy a new calendar.

WH Smiths fails for being the only shop I visited that didn't have 50% off all their calendars. And of course it was trusty Borders, the final shop I went to, that had the most choice. Narrowed it down to Bunny Suicides, Wales (the country not the animal) or Wizardology. I'll let you guess which one I bought *coughs and looks faintly embarassed*

Was quite sad to have to take down my pretty [livejournal.com profile] plnunn Clex calendar. Would loved to have bought another one for this year but it's just too expensive :( Still, my framed Lex print signed by Rosey has taken its place and it looks lovely.

Having read through what I've written of my mpreg fic so far I wish I had taken more notes at the time, because I really can't remember what I wanted to happen in it. I'm going to have to sit down and brainstorm before I do anything else because right now I have no idea what direction to take it in. I did find some notes from an IM convo I had with [livejournal.com profile] ladydreamer so I know vaguely where I want to take it but not much beyond that.

Bunny Suicides were my favouritest things ever back in school, lol. My personal favourite was always the one with the palm trees. Truly ingenious.

I have so much love for the person who thought this up. ♥

I would have thought Wales is a bit of a broad topic to narrow to twelve pictures. I always like to flick through the regional calendars (Snowdonia, of course, being my favourite -- Snowden, Llyn Ogwen and Fairy Glenn, all in one calendar!) But I never buy them. They don't make me giggle enough. I always end up getting one with daft cats!

The Wales one was quite pretty. I really wanted one with Welsh castles but all they had was Scottish castles :(

Amusing calendars are definitely more fun!

North Wales has more castles per square mile than any other region of Europe.

My knowledge is useless but varied.

And that is why next time I visit Wales I'm going to the north

Oooh, is that likely, or is it a pretend visit that people promise themselves they're going to take and never really happen? Like my tour of Russia, which is incredibly unlikely to ever take place, short of me winning the lottery so I can leave the country for a month!

I should be happy to take you out for a coffee/hot chocolate if you're in the Conwy area.

Hee! No, I will definitely be there at some point this year. Mum and I have already talked about it. Not sure which part yet though

I couldn't get a calendar this year, either. Then I discovered that the Printroom downstairs has a calendar maker gadget because they make calendars for schools... I get on very well with the guy who runs the printroom. *smirks*

I am currently sourcing 12 pretty pictures that I can print out with dates underneath for him to make it up for me...

Thanks! I think I had a breakthrough last night with the overall plot but I'm always up for ironing out the details

Get some sleep!
