Ok, I had an idea.
You may remember one of our conversations about getting the boys in teach my boys how to write neatly? Which lead me onto Teacher AU fic in which Merlin is a teacher (I don't care what of, maybe History because History Teachers are made of awesome) and Arthur is one of those really irritating PE teachers that keeps pulling kids out of Merlin's classes for extra sports practise or tournaments or tours and things which makes Merlin really angry and want to Do Things to Arthur...or something...

I've decided I'm too scared to write this and think you should instead. I have the opening for you

Merlin hadn't always wanted to be a teacher. When he'd been a little boy he wanted to be a magician. He'd spend hours in his room practising card tricks until he got them right. Sadly it wasn't to be, though. His mother had put a stop to any dream of magic as a profession after an unfortunate incident which had resulted in him nearly setting the kitchen on fire.

It was the first day of term. Merlin's favourite day as everyone was fresh and even eager to learn something.

"My name is Mr. Emrys," he announced to his first class of the day. "I'm sure you'll hear it from the older kids soon enough so I'm just going to say it now. Yes, my first name really is Merlin. Any jokes you think you are witty enough to have come up with I can assure you I've heard them before so just keep them to yourself."
