Is honesty the best policy? Probably

Ok, I've replied to all the comments made on the honesty meme so far and I have a couple of things to say

I avoided posting this meme for a few days because I had a feeling this issue would come up, but then I thought I'd rather know than not.

Yes, I post a lot and some of my posts are 'inane' as one of you put it. I have made no attempt to conceal this. In fact there is a line in my user info informing people of this so they are forwarned before they friend me.

Admittedly it gets worse during the holidays as I have nothing else to do, but even so I do like to ramble.

At one point I was quite self conscious about this but I have come to the conclusion that there's an equal number of people who like my frequent posts as don't. It comes down to the fact that it's my journal to do with as I please and I like posting.

So, this is an open invite to everyone on here. If the constant posts bother you please feel free to defriend me with no hard feelings. I won't be upset, even if we know each other outside of LJ.

All of my fics and icons are cross-posted to the relevant communities so if you're only here for those you needn't worry about missing out.

And I'd rather be defriended than filtered because at least then I know who is (or isn't) reading my journal

It's almost a New Year, peeps, so let's make this a fresh start and call it a day if necessary.

Okay, I'm saying it to you, face to face: you do post a lot. And, there are posts where I just sit there, asking myself "Why on earth does she needs to make a post about this?", but then again I tell myself that this is your journal and when you want to post about what you had for breakfast, or what you were doing in the bathroom, then go ahead. After all, no one's forcing me to read every single post you do. I can simply scroll down, or ignore it...

I wouldn't want to filter you, or even defriend you, since most of your posts are enjoyable, and I can live with the annoying ones.

I am very happy to keep you as a friend. I'll admit that I don't read every single one of your posts as they're not all about things that I share an interest in but and also because it's as much my right not to read everything as it is your right to post as much as you want.

Yeah, you post a lot. That's not exactly a secret. :) But that's just part of who you are, and I think you're awesome. *hugs* You put anything long behind a cut, and it's not like people can't just scroll on by if they want to. I say it's more important to be yourself than to worry about pleasing everyone, because you can never do that anyway.

Your posts have introduced me to many things I would never have found without you, as well as giving me a wonderful glimpse into your life. As long as you understand that I don't have time to comment on everything, and you don't hold that against me, we're all good. :) Keep in mind, too, that your journal is a snapshot of your life at this moment, each entry a memory you can revisit in the future when you're in the mood to reflect on your past. What might seem inane to someone else today might prove quite poignant or meaningful to you in the future. Only YOU can judge what has meaning and what doesn't in your own journal.

In the end, you just have to do what feels right in your heart, you know?

Sweetie, I have not one problem with how much you post; I am adult and can read whatever I want or not, as the case may be. I look at every single one of your posts - whether or not I continue on to read them is my choice.

It's simple, really . . . I just read the title of the post, and if it's something I don't fan/read/watch, I skip it and wait until the next one because I enjoy your personal posts.

I enjoy your personal posts a lot. For a long time we have not been in the same fandoms, so I do tend to skip them, but it is you I am here for. In that sense you are more honest and giving than a lot of people. Also, and a big plus, you do not moan at me all the time. Make whinely posts about how you are going to leave LJ and delete your journal because you are not getting enough comments, or to any of the things that make my eyes roll!

Nope. Ain't unfriending. We all have things we are into and things we aren't into. No one ever reads everyone's posts, and that shouldn't be a problem. I really like it when you post photos. I know some people get bored when people post family photos, photos of friends, etc., but I love it. It makes my flist seem more like we really know each other when people post photos of stuff they love/people they love.

Right, I've been on your LJ since the very beginning. I didn't have a problem with your consistent posts then and I don't now. As has already been established (by you and your flist), this is your journal and you can post what you want as often as you want. I personally enjoy your hourly wittering to the point where I actually miss reading your posts when you're on holiday/at a convention.

It's not a problem for me. My forefinger works the little wheel in the middle of my mouse real well if the post is not interesting to me. Hell, I do it for Whedonesque all the time!!

I think by the sheer number of responses you've had to this post that the people in LJland adore you. And quite rightly so.
When i signed up to LJ, i dont remember seeing a clause anywhere that stipulated how many posts you're allowed in one day. LJ would be quiet and boring without people like you. I'd prefer talkers on my LJ friends list, you know?
