Still here
Dec. 24th, 2008 11:23 pmMum-Ra and Flickums have gone to church and I will likely burn in Hell because I opted for staying home in my PJs
Flick has loaned me the Sam Neil version of Merlin. Anyone else seen it? I'm probably going to have a hard time going back to anything Arthurian that isn't slashy now. LOL! Oh, Merlin, you have broken my brain.
Dad-Ra has gone to bed so I don't have to be sociable now. I think maybe I'll hang around online for a bit and then go to bed.Presents Christmas tomorrow! WHEE!

Date: 2008-12-24 11:47 pm (UTC)*raises hand* Hey, me too. Plus, I'm watching a rated R movie that has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas.

Date: 2008-12-25 10:00 am (UTC)My mum and my sister aren't especially religious but they like to go to church at Christmas. I didn't get lectured about not going :)

Date: 2008-12-25 09:21 am (UTC)'Excalibur' remains my favourite even with the re-visioning but Sam Neil was so yummy as Merlin.

Date: 2008-12-25 04:57 am (UTC)Oh, trust me - you'll be fine. Every Arthurian movie I've ever seen has been remarkably slashy. The only difference is that it's usually Arthur/Lancelot and not our new version of Arthur/Merlin. *g*
Seriously, Excalibur (from the 1980s I think) is about as slashy as a movie can get and still pretend to be about Arthur and Guinevere

Date: 2008-12-25 12:49 pm (UTC)I've actually never seen an Arthurian production I've liked, the nearest was Excalibur.

Date: 2008-12-25 01:06 pm (UTC)But I prefer to go along with Pratchett's theory that whatever you believe in regards to death is what happens.
If you believe in Heaven or Hell then you'll end up in one or the other.
If (like Ant and I guess myself) you believe that the afterlife is a huge hall full of food, mead and buxom wenches then that's what's waiting for you.
If you believe that you'll be reincarnated as a snail (or any other creature), then that'll happen.
It's a nice little belief system that works for me.
