My laptop woes have been resolved. Our hardware engineer has pointed me to a site where I can get a new battery for my laptop for £30. That's considerably better than the £130 PC World were trying to charge me.

I shall invest when I get paid.

Well, this site is specifically for Advent batteries but he suggested putting the battery model number into Google and seeing what comes up
