Maybe I'm tired, or old, or just used to it but I really don't have the energy to get angry about the LJ Profile Page change.
I will continue to pay for my paid account and my icons. I would even like to get a permanent account but sadly I can't afford anything for myself until after Christmas. Maybe next time.

Date: 2008-11-07 09:23 pm (UTC)I hated the Facebook change for the exact same reason - it took a nice 1 page spread and turned it into 4 or 5 pages. But then I don't have a ton of applications or anything so it wasn't an issue for me.
Again, annoying but I'll get used to it. Big whoop. *smirk*

Date: 2008-11-07 11:17 pm (UTC)I think people just reject change out of some random historic impulse to maintain homeostasis. Usually it takes upheaval, revolution to instigate change - but with websites a developer just pushes a button, and that's hard for people to accept.
Life goes on though - and they layout of a web page doesn't even qualify as a minor issue on the skein of life, people should just get over it and move on. If it's really that terrible go somewhere else, find a site that does things democratically - they don't last long. Other than a few blips, LJ's quite open. We all got to beta test the new stuff, everyone had the opportunity to provide feedback. If people cared so much, they should have cared then, not now.
I understand the problem when LJ decided to excise certain accounts based on subject matter they carried, that's an issue of freedom of speech. That comes down to the very core of what blogging on LJ about. That's something that's worth taking note of. A status page change, meh.
