I hope David Tennant shows you what Shakespearian theatre is really like :P

Shakespeare in Love was a travesty of Shakespeare. Now if they were to do a real biographical film of Shakespeare, for any period of his life (but especially the Dark Lady period), I'd see that over and over.

Still... I'm really jealous you're going to be seeing Hamlet with David and Patrick - and I'm not.

I might find out what projects both have on next year.

Shakespeare in Love never claimed to be real biography. It's a comedy! With a bit of tragedy thrown in

Come on, you can't diss Tom Stoppard. The man is a genius

I didn't think it was meant to be biographical - I just thought it was awful, and crap :-s

I will grant you that Tom Stoppard has his moments, I just won't grant you that Shakespeare in Love was one of them. That film really bugs the hell out of me.

Oh goodness, I may break down and steal your icons yet. Shakespeare in Love is on my list of Top 5 movies. I thinks Shakespeare is so beautifully filmed. And I think it has one of the most romantic and erotic love scenes I've seen in a movie.

Plus I love how it's set up for Twelfth Night to be it's sequel and the idea that they find each other again.

I was just wondering about that actually

According to Wiki that end scene is just in Shakespeare's head as he starts to plan the play
