Whilst explaining to Greg how Mills and Boon (Harlequin Romance) books work I think I just came up with a plot for one. LOL

Seriously, when I was at school we had to write an opening chapter for one so it can't be that hard!

Maybe I should have a go. LOL

They've just started a very raunchy range of books!

Hee! Really? I thought the whole point of Mills and Boon was that it was something your gran could read. LOL

Money in raunch! For Granny, I would suggest The Pink Collection by dear old Barbara Cartland. These are only available on line and are from the 160 mss she left behind when she died! Now that's output. Apparently selling like the proverbial hot cakes!

I bought a medieval set Mills & Boon book the other day.

Mostly out of morbid curiosity...

I don't know about that... I found it hard when I was asked to write a chapter for one in a creative writing class! My characters just wouldn't behave. When my heroine saw the hero in a restaurant with another woman, she didn't just skulk away, vacate her house and find a job somewhere else, thereby leading to mountains of misunderstandings and angst. No, she went in there and asked him who the woman was.

My chapter was only two pages and I failed miserably. I've never tried since...

Hehe! You have a point there. I might struggle with writing dumb female characters. LOL

I hate admitting I read these things occasionally, but I do. Though I stay away from the dumb girl ones. Occasionally, they print ones that are cracky instead of angst and emo.

I've read a few, mostly because a few of my favorite authors started out writing them and so I picked them up. They also have a line of sci fi/fantasy romances that I've tried. Some are awful. I think some of the more famous authors that have joined the fantasy co did it to get rid of bad manuscripts. I like the crack ones. Those are fun. :D
