I think that when you're re-doing such an iconic moment, it sort of comes off as a little funny, no matter if it's well done or not. IMO, they shouldn't have tried--no one can top that moment by Terrence Stamp.

It's not Zod/Kal-El, but one of the hottest Clark/Zod stories I've ever read (although it doesn't end Clark/Zod) is by supercaptain182. It's called the Rise and Fall of the Last Kryptonian Consort.

And I agree about the line. Michael's awesome, but it's Terrence Stamp, after all. I don't think that can be re-done. (Though I do think Michael played Zod quite well overall)
