I had my mock driving test today. It did not go well, but I suppose it could have been a lot worse and at least now I know what I need to focus on before I do the real thing.

I am rapidly going off this job in Newcastle, even if the money is great. Reed are being totally unprofessional and discussed things about me with Dave that they haven't spoken to me about. I get the feeling I am being screwed around and lied to. Why would I want to work for a company like that? Even if they are just the recruitment agency.

So I'm feeling pretty negative about everything at the moment. I want to go on holiday but I can't afford it until I pass my bloody driving test.

Reed do tend to be pretty shit at times. Too many clients on both sides of the process, and not enough personal attention. Same could be said of a lot of agencies to be fair though.

They've just been awful. To my face they're full of encouraging comments and how they love my CV and then they tell Dave they don't think I have enough IT experience.

Pretty bad - but they've done worse than that.

And be careful, they'll probably stone wall you till they think you're desperate, then mention about experience, and try to get you into a temp job, with lines like it's only temporary, so jsut survive the lower pay for a bit, and we'll get you the experience in to get the job you want. Or it's temp to perm, and they're offering more money if you go perm.

Oh, I had another guy try that with me. He wanted me to take a Service Desk job with crap hours and got quite pushy when I pointed out that it was below my skill set.
