The job I was applying for has 3 positions so Dave and I decided to both go for it. Within 5 minutes of him submitting his application he had a phone call asking him when he can start

I'm holding off mine until I can get my head together and make some plans. I wasn't expecting this sort of response.

Yeah, they want him to do a phone interview but the implication was that the job was pretty much his.

I'm all anxious now because it would involve me probably moving to Newcastle

Well you can always go ahead with the application, then see if you get the phone interview and then you have the option to pull out (while having a huge boost to your ego!).

Oh. Well if it was me I wouldn't even consider it as I'd value my social life. Having more money is one thing, but not being able to socialise with people you now is not so good.

Of course you could have several people on your flist from Newcastle???? :)

I'm not to worried about that aspect of it to be honest. I can afford to travel back to York and see people. It's not a million miles away

If they're that desperate the job could be gone while you're considering. I'd apply and then decide if I wanted to take it were it offered.
