I just saw my first ever episode of Family Guy

OMG! How messed up is that shit?

There was a girl having sex with a dog, and a gay baby who wanted to have sex with the dog.

WHAT?

It made me feel incredibly old. I'm sure I'd have loved it 10 years ago when I thought Beavis and Butthead were hilarious.

This just went right over my head, and disturbed me as well.

Hahahahaha, Family Guy! It is like the bastard-child of The Simpsons, South Park and Rosanne. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it can be hilarious and awful in turns.

However, I never liked Beavis & Butthead, so, personal taste may be a factor as well.

Honestly, I tend to like the Simpsons as well as Southpart--which both in their own way are horrible shows. But I have never been able to tolerate Family Guy. I never fail to be disgusted by its lack of intelligence whatsoever. Not to mention how offensive it is to much of humanity in general.

No. Stewie(the baby) simply sets out to disturb and exploit the rest of the family. He's the villain of the show. As for Brian, he doesn't really know he's a dog - don't upset him.

Both the rockgod and rockgod jr love FG (I don't think rockgod jr gets most of the real jokes yet), but I'm not big on it...or The Simpsons. And I liked the first couple eps of Southpark and then lost my interest. So really, it's all an acquired taste...

Sounds like you've caught a season 5 episode. See if you can find a season 2 or 3 episode when the show was in its stride - I found those seasons hilarious. At the moment, it's touch and go.

Oh gods - Family Guy is awesome! It's so wrong. It's so sick and twisted. It's so... in your face! And for awhile there it was actually better than the Simpsons! (And I love the Simpsons!)

I love the satire of the show. The "My Fair Lady" episode was top notch (I can't remember what the real title of the episode was). The Star Wars one is super funny. There's one that parodies "Trainspotting". It's fun to watch just to see what they can come up with and how far they'll go.

The key to enjoying FG is to just remember - if you're normally offended, you WILL be offended. If you're normally NOT offended, you will STILL be offended!
