It does not bode well that I'm already seeing lots of angry reactions to Descent and although I am still spoiler free I have picked up a few things from what people have posted outside LJ cuts

Do I really want to watch an episode that is almost certainly going to make me hate Clark again? Bearing in mind Fracture made me hate him A LOT and people on my flist LIKED that episode.

I'm worried it's going to stop me wanting to write Clex

Hm, if "Fracture" made you hate him? Then, uh, "Descent" will not bulk that love back up, IMO.

I liked the episode though. And selfishly, I hope you don't stop writing Clex!

I definitely don't want to stop writing but this show makes it hard by totally destroying Clark's character

You should at least watch the Clarkless clips on YouTube. I swear, it's Michael's best performance since like S3. He's so fantastic.

I totally understand not wanting to watch though. I don't want to give anything away in case you do watch it, but there are definitely some WTF statments made by our BDA.

Same, I actually really loved Clark in this one. He seemed alternately mature/supermanly and vulnerable in tall the right places. Then again I'm a fan who has been waiting for this specific kind of Clex interaction for a while, especially from Clark's end of it, and esp on the heels of fracture.

I liked the ep. But I get why some people are mad at Clark.

And it is one of the best performances by Michael...Although I still love him best in Shattered. I say watch it.

Mmmm, I'm always amazed at what I find when I check LJ on a Friday morning after a new ep. Everyone else seems to find thing or see things so much differently than I did.

I think it will make you angry at Clark, and maybe Lex too, a bit. It is harsh from a Clex perspective, but I'm hoping I can make myself like Clark enough to start writing again soon. Depends on what he does in the upcoming episodes. But actually, Clark wasn't the only one making me angry last night. If you do watch, I want you to post so we can discuss it with you. !!

Both Michael and Tom's performances were excellent. Yes, Clark made me livid in this ep, mostly for one or two lines that I don't believe should have EVER come out of Superman's mouth. However, Tom was in fine form. Think of how Super he seemed in Bizarro. I'm still angry, though. I'm resisting the urge to look at the reaction of Clark apologists because I know that I just won't calm DOWN if I read them NOW.

Michael acted his little heart out. He always does a good job, but last night was amazing.

Umm ... your best bet is to check out WHO are the people ranting about Clark.

I didn't hate him. Besides a few WTF moments, I thought he was perfectly fine.

If it helps, Tom and Michael did a great job acting.

I think the episode was great. And why would you hate Clark or be mad at him? What has Clark done that is so wrong? And why do people keep calling him a BDA, yes, he makes mistakes, but he is young and a bit rash at times. Lex is much older, experienced and he makes many a mistake also, including lying..just like Clark.

It is Lex that is becoming really dark and evil - and he choose to be that way. He is making it very hard for me to love my Clex.

Hope you keep on writing Clex.
