I have to say I thought this was quite a boring episode until the last ten minute, then I started bawling and couldn't stop. I don't know if that says more about the episode or my current emotional state. LOL!

I do love Donna though, which is weird because I didn't think I would. I espeically love the brother/sister vibe they have going on. So much better than another assistant who's in love with him

I really was riveted to my computer for this one - horses for courses.

I hate Catherine Tate. She's rarely, rarely funny - possibly the skit with Tony Bleugh was the only time I've found her funny. She can't act, she can't write, she annoys the hell out of me.

Donna on the other hand is the polar opposite. I actually love her. I tried to love Rose, but I couldn't. I didn't try with Martha, and I liked her, I liked her a lot. But I was determined not to like Donna from the second it was announced she would be back as a companion again. Only I actually love Donna. She's fantastic.

She's prepared to stand up to the doctor, and though she tried to talk to people, she didn't just go sliding off to try and do something stupid, instead she faced the Doctor down. Importantly, she didn't just back down though, she didn't just accept everything the doctor told her after she realised she was wrong. She accepted, but kept her principles, and the doctor didn't accommodate her whims, it was more like her defiance gave him the reason to do something he wanted to do.

It was a brilliant side of the Doctor. Yes, I'm definately loving this series of Doctor Who. It's just a shame scuttlebutt prevents me from being more enthusiastic. I'm glad Martha's coming back - but why oh why does the other one have to come back?

Also, I'm not looking forward to Donna leaving - I think it's a loss to the show.

Yeah, I felt exactly the same way about Catherine Tate and Donna and I love her already too

Maybe Rose will actually die this time

Not read your review yet, brief as it is. Recorded earlier and watching now.

All I can say at this point is;

POSITIONS!

Mary Poppins reference for the win!

I was so squeeful about this ep. The doc and one of the single most important documented aspects of classical history.

A geekgasm waiting to happen for me.

Yet... I'm not as gleeful watching as I could be

p.s. actually getting to chance to visit this summer. SO EXCITED!

Rome, Asissi (I'm named after Saint Clare of Asissi, it's a Catholic thing, but I'd be deeply moved to go there and see her body, even if I do think her main motivation was her love for Saint Francis.... you know they guy, loved the itty bitty animals, 'Lord make me an instrument of your peace'.) and Pompeii

Trip of a lifetime.

And for a classics/theology geek like me an AMAZING opportunity.

Be prepared for photos on my return. Many, many photos

Ah... back from Scotland.
I still really hate Catherine Tate and she's just not doing anything for me as Donna. Probably because I still see Catherine Tate and not the character she's playing.
I do like that she's not in love with the Doctor - but she's still the awfully untalented Catherine Tate. Blah!

I have a feeling the novelty of Donna may be wearing off
