Two things
Mar. 30th, 2008 11:28 pm1. Greek is suprisingly enjoyable. Cappie is my favourite
2. Why are online friendships always like the ones you had at school? Everyone seems to be jealous and paranoid that other people are stealing their friends away. Can't we all just love each other?

Date: 2008-03-30 11:11 pm (UTC)There's also the simple fact we spend more time online, as a society, than we have in sociable pursuits historically, so we let our carefully cropped adult fronts that allow us to interact within society down. We can't keep them up all the time, and offline we're only faced with people a few hours a day, so we can guard ourselves.
There's probably a few hundred papers out there from social scientists and such. However, at the end of the day people need to take responsibility for how they act online, much in the same way they do offline, and then the internet denizens will act more mature. And maybe, a piece of the collective soul that the internet has fed and fed over the past decade will sadly die.
