Kitty just brought in a dead mouse. Am I bad for making her take it back outside? I know cats generally bring you dead things because they like you but ick! I wasn't going to dispose of it.

Yeah, my sister's cat does that all the time. I guess you should be honored. :) But I have to ask, how exactly did you make her take it back outside? LOL!

I just sort of clapped my hands at her and yelled and she ran back out with it in her mouth

Oh, so you caught her before she deposited it somewhere. Quick thinking FTW! :)

Hehe! I was suspicious when I heard her running around in the other room. Caught her red-pawed so to speak

I bet she'll be sulking when she comes back inside

Could be worse. My BF had a cat that would bring in live prey. I presume he was being given the honor of finishing it off. He had to chase down mice, a baby rabbit, and a bat.

Gah! Yes, my old kitty used to bring live creatures into my bedroom for me. Ick!

I believe this is a fallacy made up my humans! I think cats enjoy the screaming, flapping and general mayhem that happens when they drop a dead - or even better live - rat on your face.

Hehe! That wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. LOL!

Years ago, White Cloud (my cat at the time) brought in a live mouse, and carefully sat it on the floor. It immediately ran under the couch. In the ensuing mayhem of everyone trying to turn over the couch to get to it before it got away, she looked very smug.

They like freaking people out. Heh.

Hehe! Yes, she's sat here looking all innocent at me now

Back when I lived in an apartment that had a mouse problem, I ended up getting used to it. Dead mice officially no longer squick me. I think I became numb to it.

Still didn't make it cool when she would drop one on my bed while I was sleeping. Not a pleasant thing to wake up to.

Ah yes, those were the days. lol
My Thelma was a real hunter/killer/giftgiver too, she liked to chase squirrels and would bring home just the tail.

On occasion there would be a back leg still attached. Ewwwwww.

I feel for you.
