Well, Michael has signed on for an extra day of photo ops at Collectormania so I'm guessing he wouldn't have done that if there was any doubts about him being able to go. I feel a bit better now and I am SO getting my photo taken with him on both days. I shall buy my tickets (and my train tickets to Milton Keynes) next week when I get paid.

Would it be petty of me to send the girl next door an invoice for half our internet costs for the last 2 years? I'm thinking so but I am still really annoyed at her cheek. Told the guys at work about it this morning and they were as stunned as I was.

The only problem with doing that (and I'd be very tempted!) is that you would then be outside of your terms with your internet provider as you would be 'charging' on top of their charges to you, which I'm pretty sure would be illegal.

You could point out the illegality of it so she's aware for the future and how much the Internet costs you during that time. Then put 'IF I were to charge you it would have cost you ..... to use MY service'. That way you're making it clear you have no intention of doing that. You never know what she might do (i.e. phone your provider and explain the situation).

Yeah, a good point. I think it's best to just let the matter drop. She can't access it any more and I told her the reasons why I wasn't going to let her use it when she visited last night. I'm just still pissed off about the whole thing

I'm going to send out an e mail a week or so before the event so I can get mobile numbers from everyone and arrange somewhere to meet on the Friday. Maybe we can all go out for dinner and get to know each other a bit

You totally should. It was stealing and it was a crime and they should be busted for it. And then the nerve of them, only admitting they'd been doing it after they no longer could access it! You have every right to be angry!

I'd send her an invoice and a polite note stating that while you appreciate her finally being honest with you, she does, in fact owe you for the time that she was using your internet. I would also mention if she fails to comply you will file a police report, because it is afterall, theft. (Not that a police report would stand up at all but you'll see my meaning a bit later)...

Honestly I don't think she could call your internet provider - first she'd have to remember or know who it was (and if you had your router names with something other than your service provider she won't know). Secondly, the provider wouldn't be able to talk to her about your account and you could explain to them what she did and if they get pissy about it, send them the check and your internet is paid for a year.

The reality is, if she's as dumb as you think she is, she probably won't pay it but she will have the fear of god put into her, which in my book is worth a lot! (I'm kinda mean like that when people steal my stuff).
