Smallville
Dec. 16th, 2007 06:58 pmAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Bizarro is back! Huzzah!
How bad is it that I didn't suss anything was wrong even though Clark was kissing serious Lana ass and vowing to destroy his boyfriend. I should have realised something was wrong but I just assumed it was the usual bad SV writing.
And the Julian thing was ok! I seriously didn't expect them to go back on previous canon butt there was a niggling twinge of doubt in the back of my mind
And Lex is so gloriously evil! Now he owns the Planet. Oh, I want Perry to come back at the end of this Season.
EEEE! We're back on form, finally. YAY!
Hmmm...what to write for my snippet. OOH, I know! *plots*

But what a wonderful jig it was - it was cleverly done I feel, it was there as a building story, but was never fully let loose. They limited the amount of time Bizarro/Lana had on screen - as this was a lot more about Lois and Gabriel. Plus the irony was brilliant, in a story about clones, you've effectively got two levels of clones going on. Gabriel/Julian and Clark/Bizarro. Which suggests someone on the Smallville team has some appreciate for good writing.
In terms of Julian - I wouldn't have put it past them going back on the canon - though to be fair, they mostly just forget things that have happened, once they're gone (such as Lana the Witch - conveniently forgotten).
I'll tell you what I loved most about this episode - for the first time in a while, Chloe and Lana were in the same scene. But how about that for tension - they hate each other, can't stand to be near each other. The series started off with no scenes with them together, for some reason. Now it's fairly open that they don't like each other. If it were a few seasons ago, I'd say it was because of Clark - however Chloe has her sights set elsewhere, and it can't be the fake death - because Chloe's done that before Lana. (In fact Chloe's done a lot of things before Lana, kissed Clark, had powers, battled Lex - Lana is such a copying bitch).
Meanwhile what's happening to Clark? It seems kind of pointless for Jor-El to just trap him, frozen. It would be a bit like - "Ah, you're awake now Cal-El, I froze you for a few days as punishment, go on then, you little scally". It wouldn't mean anything, and Jor-El always has a purpose. Is he downloading something into Clark's brain? Is he training him for some big bad to come?
Also why is Bizarro trying to find Milton? He doesn't need him - on the basis their goals would be completely different. Unless Bizarro was actually aligned with Zod, in which case, Zod may yet make his return.
I wouldn't have thought it would be as Lex though - but then again they need a way to write Lex out, and he certainly was repentent the last time Zod controlled his body. Maybe Zod's still trapped somewhere in Lex?

I'm excited about the show again!

Date: 2007-12-16 09:03 pm (UTC)I love that Lana says she's never felt closer to Clark, and Clark is actually an alien who kills people without a second thought. She's finally found her soul mate! LOL!
Lex's delivery of "I am your boss!" was my favorite line of the episode. It totally reminded me of how he said, "I am the villain of the story!" Yeah, now we're gonna have some fun!
Stupid writer's strike. *kicks the AMPTP*
