31. Liquor - Poppy Z. Brite

I'm so glad I waited until now to read this book. Poppy's writing style has matured in the same way that my reading tastes have. I know people have accused her for selling out now that she writes more mainstream stuff but I call it maturing.

I still love Lost Souls and Drawing Blood but they are vastly different to Liquor. She's much lessed focussed on the sex and violence and more on the characters and their lives. It's easy to forget that the two main characters are a gay couple because she doesn't make a big deal about it and I kind of like that.

Anyway, she is still my favourite author and she still hasn't lost her ability to create wonderful characters and really suck me into the world she has created. I absolutely loved it and next on the list, not surprisingly, is Prime, her next book in the series. Looking forward to it already.

Random but... spending four and a half hours carefully decorating the Luthor manor only to find you made the entire thing IN THE WRONG NEIGHBOURHOOD is a kick in the figurative gonads.

Seriously. I just spent twenty minutes backing up my familes and such I had made earlier today and another ten uploading them/recreating family ties via the CAS.

*eyetwitch* As a fellow Simmer, I'm sure you've had your fair share of annoyances with the game, si?

Ya! You know you can move houses into other neighbourhoods, right?

a friend of mine got really evil and told me to make jonathan kent snuff it. i snorted my hot chocolate xD

that thread got too skinny and i could no longer make it out xD

yes, you shall get screencaps, but unfortunately, the only way i know how to kill a sim is by burning them alive.
