I've always had it in my head that Independence Day is an awful film, and it is, but it's also hilarious

Bill Pullman trying to emote just cracks me up

Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum were clearly just taking the piss and Adam Baldwin is in it playing a soldier who loves his guns. Hi Jayne!

Is it wrong to think the Jeff Goldblum is hot in this film?

In sadder news, I'm not going to get to watch Heroes and Chuck until Friday. Wah!

Yeah, this was only the second time I've seen it. It was much more amusing when I wasn't taking it seriously

It's even funnier if you see it in the cinema. When we went there was a huge cheer when the White House was hit. It is impossible to take the film seriously, but there is a great deal of fun to be had. And yay for Jayne!

Hehe! I have to say the last time I watched it I was only a teenager. Clearly I took it too seriously back then

I actually loved that movie. Dude, they blew up the White House! hee!

I only vaguely remember that Adam Baldwin was in that movie. I may have to watch it again.

If you want to talk about a really bad Will Smith movie, how about Wild, Wild West? Ouch, it hurts just to think about it. Sucktastic.

Adam Baldwin looks so young in Independence Day. LOL!

I have never seen Wild, Wild West and I have no intention of it either. LOL

I find it funny that that movie is pretty much one giant fandom crossover. Kowalsky from SG-1 is there, and Jayne (as you said) and Chandra Suresh from Heroes.

There are others, but I can't think of them right now.

Edit: Oh, and Data from Star Trek.

I watch it on Flix, the Sci-Fi Channel, Encore, or FX only if nothing else is on. There was one week when it was on morning and evening, and I think I drove Dad insane when I left it on while he was in the room and went off to do something else.

(These days, all I do is tell him to guess what's on now, and he cringes and begs me not to put it on that channel.)

The one part of the movie that I like is the president's speech, but I'm really not a fan.

Oh, yes, I cheered when I saw Eric Avari. Hee!

So silly!

i actually really like that movie....because "we will not go quietly into the night."

And Jeff Goldblum is hot in all his movies (well, maybe not The Fly towards the end when he is all gooey) -- but Goldblum = hotness!

(and I don't watch Chuck and Heroes until my husband gets home, on the weekend, because he likes to watch them with me...I wait a whole freakin' week!!! arRRRRRGGGG~)

YAY! I'm so glad it's not just me that thinks Jeff is hot. LOL

*snicker* Yeah, that film amused me greatly, too. Damn, I want to watch it again now. :D

Hehe! I wouldn't have watched it if it wasn't on TV and we had nothing else to do. LOL

Heh, the movie reminds me of my childhood, as I was, like, 10 when it came out. Loved it then because I didn't know better and, well, shit blew up! And I love it now because of the cheestastic-ness (yes, that is a word).

It's definitely cheestastic! LOL!

I've seen it twice, maybe? ...and each time it was a guilty pleasure; Will Smith & Jeff Goldblum crack me UP in that film. And yeah, there's just *something* about Goldblum (in most anything) that makes me take notice. ;)
