My PC has power! YAY! Unfortunately because of the new motherboard it wants me to ring up and re-activate Windows. I could do it here but the seriel number is at home. Boo!

Seems that as well as the motherboard blowing my PSU had also died so I had to get a replacement for that.

I've learned more about PC hardware in a couple of hours today than I previously knew in my whole life. LOL.

But ow it's fiddly and I've scraped the hell out of my fingers. Again.

Nice layout :) I should do a Christmas one, but I'm too damn lazy!

Gotta love computer problems. Seems all our computers at work are revolting. And the timing is perfect. We're about to upgrade (FINALLY) to Windows Vista. Hahaha. The entire college is going to come to a stand-still, just you wait.

LOL! One machine with Vista is bad enough. I can't even imagine what a whole building full of them will do

What's worse is that we're not even warning the students. They'll come in one day and BAM! everything has changed. Bad enough we're renovating one of our biggest buildings and thus dislocating hundreds of people. We have to throw Vista into the mix. And we're doing this on all three of our campuses.

It makes me very glad that I am not in IT. I can sit back, point, and laugh.

The sad thing is, Web & Media Services (my group) knows enough that people DO call us for IT problems. It's kind of scary.

They are doing this right before we go on Christmas/Winter break. Can we say cluster-fuck? LOL!!

I would have thought the PSU going would be what destroyed the motherboard, but I'm not in IT or anything so you knows!

Not looking forward to arguing with Microsoft when I rebuild my pc over Christmas.

Nah, I don't think it's the PSU (it's newish and 700w). Definitely something odd going on with the graphics card though. Hopefully it'll get on better with with a newer motherboard.

Hee, I think the only bits left in mine are the Floppy Drive that's full of dust and a CD writer that doesn't work! Even the case isn't original (and I'm getting a sexy new one for xmas)!
