Sunday Morning And All Is Well
Sep. 11th, 2016 10:36 amMade it safely to Newcastle yesterday and had a lovely afternoon and evening with my friends. Every time I spend time with my friend Kayleigh she somehow gets me interested in a new fandom. I still blame her for all my Dan and Phil feels. So when I turned up yesterday I was greeted with 'Hi, Hils. Would you like some lunch. Btw I have discovered K-Pop'
So while Kayleigh prepared some lunch for us I found myself watching a variety of K-Pop videos on Youtube. Mostly BIGBANG and Astos. From there we ended up watching To Be Continued on Netflix which was a TV show that was made to introduce Astos. There was time travel, high school drama, pining (so much pining). It was basically televised self-insert fanfic on the Mary-Sue character wasn't interested in actually dating any of the boys. It was highly entertaining and surprisingly addictive.
In the evening we watched Civil War and ate shawarma. Good times. I've seen Civil War three times now and it still rates around the middle in terms of Marvel movies for me. I don't think anything is going to beat Winter Soldier at this point.
Having a chilled out morning this morning and then we're heading into Newcastle city centre at lunchtime for cat cafe shenanigans. Should be fun!
Back to work tomorrow but at least it's only for 3 days. It does mean those 3 days will be spend scrambling around trying to get all my work sorted out before I go away for a week.
In hockey news Sweden won yesterday when I wasn't able to watch the game. I told you! The curse is real. Apparently the fighting in the first USA vs Canada game was so bad that they benched Sid for the second game because they didn't want him to get hurt.
From what I understand the second game was even more fighty than the first one so I guess that was the right decision?
I'm just imagining poor Sid though
Coach: I want you go go out there and beat the shit out of them. Score wise but also literally
Sid: But hockey...
Coach: *pets Sid on the head* You can hockey next game.
Evidently I got into hockey when everyone was on their best behaviour for the playoffs. There weren't really any fights at all in any of the games I watched earlier in the year. I guess because the playoffs are important and winning is more important than fighting? Everyone just seems to be beating the shit out of each other in these games.
