Happy Anniversary

Yesterday was the 51st anniversary of the day The Man From UNCLE started airing.

I think it's a testament to longevity of this show that when I was at writerconuk at the weekend I had several conversations with people who used to watch it, and I had several more conversations with people who wanted me to share my digital copy because they wanted to watch it.

Loved this show when I was a kid and, if possible, I love it even more now

13 – Do you prefer canon or fanon when you write? Has writing fanfic for a fandom changed the way you see some or even all of the original source material?
I think a mixture of the two. I tend to draw heavily from canon when I'm writing but at the time time every fandom has those little fanon details that everyone seems to latch onto. For example SO MANY fic in the MUNCLE fandom have Napoleon using tovarisch as a nickname for Illya despite it never happening in the show. I can take or leave that specific one but what I do love is Illya and Napoleon having cute Russian nicknames for each other (Illyusha and Napasha respectively). That never happens in the show either but I find it adorable.

So, yeah, just little fanon details like that I love.
