A RL update

I haven't done a post about work for a while so here, have one.

Things are going well I think. Dan and I have really hit it off and we make an awesome shift team. Without blowing my own trumpet (okay, maybe a little) it's been noted by the management types that we are the best team *g*

Had my first conflict earlier in the week. We've just taken on a new project and Dan and I after spending ages trying to puzzle it out asked for some training as we weren't really sure what we were doing. The guy training us (let's call him Dickhead) said he didn't see why we needed training when it was obvious what to do and he felt we were just looking for an excuse to slack off and not do the work.

Dan and I, as I'm sure you can imagine, hit the bloody roof and this was overheard by big boss type.

Then, to make matters worse, he repeated the accusation in an e mail to all the senior staff.

I snapped. I may have only been working there a couple of months but I work bloody hard which is more than can be said for some of the people who have been there longer than I have. I made a formal complaint and BCC'd Dan in on it.

He told me that my email had been well received by the management as they like people who care about the job and that Dickhead got his ass kicked for it.

Good.

And that's about it really.

Dan has taken some time off for his birthday so I have to work with Other People this weekend. Not really looking forward to it. Guy I'm working with tonight is nice enough (we worked together for my first month) but he's very quiet. Tomorrow and Sunday I get to work with a guy who's on a verbal warning for coming into work drunk and falling asleep at his desk :-s

And on Monday night I'm working with a guy who's been there less time than me so if anything complicated comes in I'm in charge. Eek!

I can't wait for Dan to get back. LOL.
