It's an age old discussion but I said I would post because one of flickums's friend is wary of watching SPN because it's been slated by a lot of feminist blogs (for things like killing off Bela because fans didn't like her)

So, is SPN anti-feminist and how does it compare to Buffy (which has been cited as pro-feminism apparently)

SPN is off until January after this ep? I was expecting at least one more. Is this weeks the first half of a two-parter or did I just imagine that?

Either way I am half in mourning and half relieved to not have to get up at the asscrack of dawn on a Friday so I can watch it before work. LOL.

Smallville

Looky here, a post that has nothing to do with SPN. Uh, except there's a small amount of Jensen. D'oh!

Anyway, Transference, that's a good episode of Smallville isn't it. Who'd have thunk that in years to come we'd look back at S4 with it's stupid witchy plot and think that it was a good season

Oh dear.

I think I have finally broken. Remember how I avoided the SPN fandom for years because it was full of crazy people? I think I have now become one of those crazy people and that's not even taking into account my crazed Misha obsession and all the madness that I've been drawn into on Twitter.

So, I started reading the SPN book last night and within one chapter I had issues. Not because of the writing (Dean's voice is pretty much spot on actually) or the story (feels like a classic SPN ep) but because it starts with the boys at The Grand Canyon. What's wrong with that? Nothing, except that in my own personal head canon they have never been there. I know in S2 (Croaton maybe?) Dean suggests they go there but as far as I'm concerned they never made it. Why? Because in my own personal head canon they're going to go there after the apocalypse. Sam and Dean and maybe Cas too if he's still alive. It'll be their reward for surviving. Just head out there so Dean can see the place he's always wanted to visit and they can just relax and marvel at the beauty of the place.

Yeah, I'm having issues with a book because it contradicts something that hasn't even happened on the show. I need help.
