hils: (Misha milk by me)
11 days to Collectormania. I caved and ordered a new camera which has just been dispatched. Will likely do the photography meme when it gets here so I can learn how it works.

Misha continues to fuck with fandoms heads. Here's an excerpt from one of the chicon reports

She goes on about the fan sites and fan fic, getting huge groans from the crowd. Misha comments that every convention he’s asked about that and he gets that same groan as if there’s a button. He then laughs, not sure how to answer the question. He was talking to the publicist at The CW and someone wanted to talk to him about fan fic. She said he doesn’t know anything about fanfic and the person said that he does. He’s studied it a bit but he hasn’t gotten to the intensive googling phase yet. “Or maybe I already have on my own. Maybe I’ve read all of your stories and posted comments. Some of them are badly written. You know who you are.” (big cheers) “There seems to be a lot of mentioning of it, which means there must be a large body of it. Or, what’s out there is so intensely offensive it causes everyone out there to talk about it. Also a possibility. Hard to isolate the variables. So, I would like to study this more than I already have. Which might not be at all.”

The fact that he uses the word 'comments' rather than 'feedback' or 'reviews' tells me he has at least passing familiarity with LJ. It's kind of awesome but also kind of scary. I don't want Misha reading my crappy Dean/Cas fics and I sure as hell don't want him reading my RPS.

Damn him for being so awesome! LOL!

Those of you who have been on my flist for a while will remember how I was recoiling in horror when this book was first announced. Well, I take it back because I LOVED it! The addition of the zombie background story is done seamlessly and it feels totally natural and great. I'll admit that I laughed in places but I think if you read it with no prior knowledge of Pride and Prejudice you'd still really enjoy it.

And the illustrations just make it even more enjoyable. This one is my favourite

Next on the list is Supernatural: Witch's Canyon by Jeff Mariotte

This icon made me laugh WAY more than it should.

Who on here was around in my LotR fandom days? This line was pretty much my favourite line of Boromir's (possibly after 'They have a cave troll'). Fandom collisions make me happy

How much do I love that Jared can't spell Misha's name (I suspect deliberately) and defaced a picture of Castiel

And the first time I looked at it I thought it said 'Mischa fucks'. Only just realised that's not what it says. Oops.
