I don't really know what to say about Michael Jackson. I was a huge fan of his music when I was younger and had most of his albums. It's a testament to his music that stuff like Thriller and Billie Jean still gets played regularly 20+ years later. I'm not even going to speculate on his personal life. At the moment I feel for his family more than anything. I suspect a lot of shit is going to get dragged up over the next few months and it won't be easy for them so keep them in your thoughts.

I haven't actually seen Misha in anything apart from SPN and Nip/Tuck but this was a cute video

Had my first Misha dream last night. Nothing of consequence happened really. He was just kind of hanging out with me and a couple of my friends. Nice that my subconscious thought to give him his normal voice rather than his Castiel voice though

Well, [livejournal.com profile] solar_cat has kindly offered to beta my [livejournal.com profile] remixredux09 fic which means there is nothing at all to do except start my [livejournal.com profile] rpf_big_bang fic *gulps* I've decided that for the plot I'm working on Misha does actually need to be in it. I hope I can do him justice.

If you're on my bigbang filter expect flailing posts of flail over the weekend

Right then

Can any of the fellow writers on my flist explain to me the difference between active and passive writing? I've been told in the past that I tend to overly use passive sentences but no one can tell me how to stop doing it. LOL

Hints and tips gratefully recieved. I chatted to Dave about this a couple of weeks ago as he's the only published writer I know in real life. Sadly all he could come up with was 'I can see active and passive when I read but I can't describe it'

Well, that's helpful. LOL!

1. Sir Apropos of Nothing - Peter David
2. Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark - Campbell Black
3. The Complete Fairy Tales - Brothers Grimm
4. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - James Kahn
5. The Cranford Chronicles - Elizabeth Gaskell
6. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - Rob MacGregor
7. Three Men in a Boat - Jerome K. Jerome
8. Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil - John Berendt
9. Ramage - Dudley Pope

If you're a fan of Hornblower and/or Sharpe I can't reccomend this book enough. It was like both of those, only much more exciting and interesting. There's enough history in their to feel accurate but it doesn't get bogged down with details like types of knots or battle formations. I really enjoyed it a lot and will be looking out for the next one in the series

Next on the list is Antrax by Terry Books, the next in the Shannara series.

Meh

I think I will be spending the month of July living a life of hermitude. Paying for the rest of my holiday to Italy tomorrow and just paid off my credit card bill for France. Am pretty much skint now until I get paid on the 23rd of next month

I knew my jetsetting life would catch up with me. LOL!

Still, one month of not going to the pub won't kill me and the trips I've been on were totally worth a month of poverty.

Plus next month I've got a week of housesitting for Ros where I won't even need to buy food. WHEE!

And it'll give me lots of time for bigbang writing and SPN watching

So it's not as doomy and gloomy as I thought
